Who Are We Looking For?
We are seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow - Computational Biology to join the School of Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Health, Academic Division. The successful candidate will contribute to an NHMRC funded-project aimed at addressing antibiotic resistance as part of the larger SEARCHER Consortium, which involves collaborators from various countries including several European nations, Nigeria, and Pakistan. At QUT, our focus will be on developing novel computational methods to predict environmental antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) that pose the greatest threat to human health.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Relevant doctoral training with a strong track record of scientific productivity demonstrated through publications and conference presentations.
  • Proficiency in developing research software, including designing new methods and implementing them in code.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and autonomously manage tasks to meet project deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
