Marsh Insurance Brokers (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Placement Leader, Malaysia. This new role, based in the Kuala Lumpur office, will be instrumental in establishing and building a key function for the Malaysia operations.

Job Description:

Role Overview:

The Placement Leader, Malaysia will be responsible for developing and implementing a Placement Strategy for the overall Malaysian operations. This involves establishing Placement as a dedicated function, focusing on yield, portfolio review/segmentation, Carrier management, achieving operating efficiencies, and product development and review. The strategy will cover all lines of business, segments, and industries, including interaction with country and regional specialties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a Placement Strategy aligned with regional guidelines and business objectives.
  • Set yield targets and develop country yield strategy, including transactional and non-transactional remuneration.
  • Implement uniformity in the placement process in accordance with local business customs/regulations and Marsh management.
  • Identify market gaps, trends, and opportunities, and build solution-oriented product offerings.
  • Lead a small team of brokers and placement professionals.
  • Manage and drive relationships with Carriers, including regular engagement with Marsh’s Carrier Partners.
  • Ensure timely and accurate Placement Data Capture for analytics and benchmarking.
  • Act as the Executive Sponsor for key IT projects.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10-15 years of relevant working experience in Insurance Broking and Placement across all lines of business and segments.
  • Strong knowledge of existing Carriers and offerings within Malaysia.
  • Strong knowledge of existing regulatory and Marsh compliance requirements within Malaysia.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and motivate others to achieve joint goals.
