What you will do:
As a General Manager, Malaysia, your primary responsibility is to oversee the business performance at the country level. This entails achieving profitability objectives, delivering plans, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, and growing the business in line with Regional Business strategies.
How you will do it:
- Actively participate as a member of the Southeast Asia leadership team, providing accurate and timely area-specific performance information, supporting other leaders, and maximizing revenues and profitability through resource sharing and collaboration.
- Provide senior leadership in a cross-functional matrixed organization to achieve overall organizational goals.
- Lead, develop, and coach the country operational, sales, and functional management team to deliver the business plan, including orders, revenue, executed margin EBIT, and trade working capital.
- Drive implementation of Line of Business (LOB) strategic direction within the dedicated geographical area.
- Translate strategic priorities into results, drive operational discipline, and align communication within the in-country leadership team to deliver commitments.
- Foster a high-performance culture across the functional leadership team, promoting a One-team mindset.
- Manage country assets across branches, ensuring profitability goals are met or exceeded and implementing key business processes and tools.
- Develop and ensure high-performing local leadership through quality staffing, performance management, coaching, development, and succession planning.
- Build key relationships with owners, contractors, consultants, and maintain key account relationships.
- Develop and manage the overall country sales strategy, fostering a climate of Sales Excellence.
- Oversee country financial management, following JCI policies and standards.
- Establish collaborative relationships across Southeast Asia countries and wider regional Johnson Controls business.
- Act as a legal manager of the country business entities and represent the company in its relationships with major stakeholders.
What we look for:
- University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of experience, with a track record of growing market share, maximizing revenue, and profitability.
- Proven background in defining local strategic direction based on overall business strategy.
- Ability to lead daily operations of a country or LOB within a country, as defined by size of P&L responsibility.
